With the help of a little AI, Tinder is hoping to improve your swiping experience by playing matchmaker.
Thanks to a machine learning tool called “TinVec” that analyzes your swiping preferences as you use the app, Tinder now presents you with a curated selection of profiles you’re practically guaranteed to like.

What Is Super Likeable On Tinder?
In a nutshell, Super Likeable uses TinVec to find patterns in the way you swipe on Tinder. It then seeks out profiles to present you that fit within those patterns. In other words, it tries to predict your future matches.
For instance, if you’ve got a thing for bald dudes that wear glasses or ginger gals who are taller than 5’7”- and you almost always swipe right on singles who match that description – Tinder will automatically add profiles like that to your match feed.
As Brian Norgard, Tinder’s Chief Product Officer, explained,
TinVec relies on users’ past swiping behavior, but that swiping behavior takes into account multiple factors, both physical and otherwise. The beauty of AI is that it incorporates all of those inputs into its ranking system.
Every once in a while, Tinder will use all that collected data to present you with a group of four profiles that you'll find “super likeable” – and a bonus Super Like to go along with them:
How To Use Tinder Super Likeable
Super Likeable isn’t a feature you can bring up at will, like Tinder Picks. It’s a data analyzation process that runs behind the scenes. The intention is for the algorithm to ultimately populate your match feed with more profiles it thinks you’ll like.
According to Norgard, the more you swipe, the better your recommendations will be. It takes time for the app to gather enough data to learn your preferences.
That’s why it might take a bit before you see your first Super Likeable card as you’re swiping, and then they’ll pop up periodically after that.
When a Super Likeable card pops up, all you have to do is pick which one you’d like to use the free Super Like on.
You must “Super Like” the profile, as opposed to just swiping right. If you’re not interested in any of them, just tap “Skip.” And no, you can’t “save” your bonus Super Like for another time. This is a use-it-or-lose-it situation.
The Super Likeable card is a way for the app to make sure TinVec is learning properly. If you choose not to Super Like any of the profiles it selected, it can fine-tune the algorithm accordingly.
As Wired noted, relying on a checklist of criteria might be somewhat limiting, since you’re presented with profiles that are your “type” over and over.
But Norgard has an answer for that too:
Sometimes people may think they want one thing, but then when they see something totally different that interests them, it helps them realize that their original filtering criteria might not have been entirely accurate. The beauty of our swiping-based algorithms is that people’s actions tend to be true to what they really want, not what they think they want.
